The awards ceremony for the winners of the annual competition officially concluded the program of one of the largest Eastern European photography festivals, Rovinj Photodays!
This year, the festival’s Grand Prix was awarded to the winner in the Landscape category, Sonja Žugić. The Grand Prix was presented by the head selector Gabriella Uhl.
Awards were presented in seven official categories to 6 photographers from Croatia, 4 from Slovenia, 4 from Serbia, 3 from Macedonia and one each from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece, Italy, Germany and Slovakia. Their works were presented for the first time in a group exhibition of all finalists, which was also the central event of this year’s festival.
Winning this award means that Sonja will have a solo exhibition with the corresponding publication at the Rovinj Photodays 2019 festival, our sponsor Maistra is awarding her with a weekend vacation in Rovinj and our sponsors Epson are gifting her a brand new Epson SC-P800 printer!
You can find Sonja Žugić’s work, as well as the works of other finalists, on this link.
This year, as in previous years, the festival brought together a number of names from the social and public life and a large number of photographers and photography experts from around the world.
We also announced the winners of the HUAWEI Photo Marathon – twenty-five contestants had the opportunity to take part in a two-day photo challenge, and the 15 best photos will be exhibited this autumn on PRPD days at the Museum of Arts and Crafts in Zagreb!
The next competition will be announced in December of this year.
